EGERTON PARK v MOTE PARK 21 st August 2024
Egerton came out worthy winners in this historically evenly matched teams with an overall score of 89 for 67 against.
Rink 1. Saw Mick Burton, Ken Brook and Marie Burton trounce their opposition 25 to 9 as they led from start to finish and were comfortably Top Rink, so should have a pen with them next week.
Rink 2. With a team of Dave Jarrett, John Robertson and Sandra Stacey suffered a heavy defeat, going down in a disappointing match 12 to 25. Dave is still recovering from having a stent fitted and ran out of steam at the half way stage, he feels he let his team down but will come back stronger. Watch this space.
Rink 3. Saw Tim Jeffrey, Joan Robertson and John Gilbert proving to be far too strong for their adversaries, where after the third end they went ahead and stayed the course, to finish 23 to 10. Well done to probably the oldest team of the day.
Rink 4. A team comprising of the days Captain Paul Hales, with Harold Nutting and James Stevenson, losing by a narrow margin 12 to 15. Harold struggled to hear his instructions but well done anyway.
Rink 5. Most definitely the best-looking team of the day and played as well as they looked, running out comfortable winners, having also led from the start, so congratulations to Steve Hattersley, Judith Brook and Denis Parkinson, with a final score of 17 to 8
